The Auckland born spinner, Roneel Hira reaped the benefits of a very successful campaign at the ICC Under 19 World Cup in 2006 as it helped him make his first-class debut for Auckland Aces against Otago in the 2006-07 season. Hira gives an all-round edge to the Aces with his crafty spin and sharp fielding, and has been representing the domestic side regularly in the limited-overs format. Thereafter, Hira also participated in the 2011 Champions League Twenty20 held in India. The following year, the left-armer made his Twenty20 international debut against Zimbabwe at Auckland. He was included in the T20I squad for the ICC World Twenty20 in 2012.
