In a bizarre incident that took place on Day 3 of the second Test match between Bangladesh and South Africa, Bangladesh all-rounder Mehidy Hasan had to be stretchered off the field after missing a straightforward catch with the ball hitting him on his chest as he stood watching. Commentators believed that Hasan had lost sight of the ball in the background of the crowd but those watching on TV and in the stadiums saw the humour in the incident as Mehidy did not even move an inch at gully even as the ball came straight at him.

Taskin Ahmed's injury paved the way for Taijul Islam, who took no time to prove his mettle with the ball as he bowled a superb spell of 6/135 in the first innings of the ongoing second and final Test against South Africa. The left-arm spinner however has struggled for a place in playing XI in overseas.
