Sher-E-Punjab T20 Cup 2024: PBKS star's heroics propel Trident Stallions to 4th straight win with seven-wicket victory over Royal Phantoms

Trident Stallions defeated Royal Phantoms by seven wickets in their Sher-E-Punjab T20 Cup 2024 clash on June 17.

This was Trident Stallions' fourth successive win the tournament.

Trident Stallions rode on Prabhsimran Singh's unbeaten 59 to register a stunning 7-wicket win against Royal Phantoms to top the points table in the ongoing Sher-E-Punjab T20 Cup 2024.  Trident Stallions chased down the 149-run target with two overs to spare.

Triden Stallions makes it four on four

This was their fourth win in a row for season 2. Royal Phantoms could only manage 148 runs on the board after batting first. Trident Stallions' bowlers were exceptional, not giving the Phantoms much room to score. Gurnoor Brar and Ramandeep Singh each picked up two wickets, while Baltej Singh and Shubham Rana chipped in with one each. In reply, Trident Stallions chased down the target comfortably. Captain Prabhsimran Singh led the way with an unbeaten knock of 59 runs off 46 balls. He received good support from Abhay Chaudhary and Ramandeep Singh to ensure a comfortable victory. Trident Stallions had earlier won the toss and elected to bowl first. The Royal Phantoms' innings got off to a slow start, with only Jaskaranvir Singh Paul showing some resistance.

Jaskaranvir Singh Paul was the lone bright spot for Royal Phantoms with the bat. He scored 73 runs in 60 balls, helping his team reach a total of 148 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their 20 overs.

Trident Stallions' bowling attack was impressive. Gurnoor Brar and Ramandeep Singh were the pick of the bowlers, taking 2 wickets each for 29 runs and 21 runs respectively. Baltej Singh and Shubham Rana also chipped in with a wicket apiece.

Trident's chase started off shaky. Opener Vihaan Malhotra was dismissed without scoring. Captain Prabhsimran Singh found some support in Abhay Chaudhary, and the pair put on a 77-run partnership. Abhay contributed 40 runs before being dismissed. Salil Arora also chipped in with 17 runs.

Prabhsimran Singh stars with the bat

However, the star of the show was Prabhsimran Singh. He remained unbeaten, scoring 59 runs off just 46 balls. His knock included 6 fours and a mighty six. Ramandeep Singh provided valuable support at the other end, scoring a quickfire 28 runs off 14 balls, including 2 fours and 2 sixes. These unbeaten knocks secured a comfortable victory for Trident Stallions. Sohraab managed to pick up 2 wickets for Royal Phantoms, while Garv took 1 wicket.
