India's star opener Yashasvi Jaiswal likened batting maestro Rohit Sharma to the character from Ranveer Singh’s movie, Dhurandhar.

Rohit Sharma, the 'Dhurandhar of Team India

Speaking at the Agenda AajTak summit 2025, Jaiswal expressed significant affection for the senior player, hinting that Rohit possesses substantial power and personality that often lies beneath his seemingly easy-going demeanor. Jaiswal, who made his international debut under Rohit's captaincy, has quickly established himself in the national team, becoming a stable member of the Test squad and strongly pushing for a spot in the ODI team. The left-hander has consistently shared a positive relationship with the Indian captain and is notably considered one of the players Rohit affectionately refers to as his 'garden me ghoomne vaaley boys'.

During the conversation, Jaiswal participated in a segment where he was given a series of movie titles and asked to name the corresponding Indian cricketer each film title resembled. When presented with the title of Ranveer Singh's latest release, Dhurandhar, Jaiswal immediately responded by naming Rohit Sharma.

When the subsequent movie title, Baahubali, was given to him, Jaiswal took no time to nominate leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal. While some initially speculated that this was a playful jibe at Chahal's slight build, Jaiswal clarified his choice, emphasising that the cricketer is incredibly strong from a mental standpoint, thereby relating him to the movie's powerful theme.
