India's stand-in captain Rishabh Pant was not pleased with his team's effort on Day 2 of the ongoing second Test against South Africa in Guwahati. The Indian players were jogging around, ignoring timer in-between overs which irked Pant as he expected his teammates to be at their mark and ready for Kuldeep Yadav to delivery the ball. The wicketkeeper-batter was heard on stump mic to bowl one delivery quickly. He was left frustrated when umpire Richard Kettleborough gave him the second warning.
"Yaar 30 seconds ka timer hai. Ghar pe khel rahe ho kya? Ek ball daal jaldi (Guys, there is a 30-second timer. Are you guys playing at home? Bowl one quickly),” Pant was heard saying in a video posted on social media.
“Yaar Kuldeep, dono baar warning le li (Kuldeep, we got the second warning).
“Pura ek over thodi na chahiye. Mazak bana rakha hai Test cricket ko (Do you guys need an entire over (to move)? You guys have made Test cricket a joke).

“Field mere ko karne de, tu tappe se daalne ko dekh. Baaki ho jayega kaam. (Let me set the field, you just bowl. The rest will be taken care of).
“Bhai kal poore din mehnat kari hai yaar, chhodenge nahi. Kaam karte raho. (Guys, we worked hard the entire Day 1. We won’t let it go easily. Keep working).”
Proteas lower-middle order make India bowlers work hard
In the first session of Day 2, South Africa did not lose a single wicket. Senuran Muthusamy and Kyle Verreynne frustrated the Indian bowlers. They scored 69 runs in the first session. The partnership was finally broken by Ravindra Jadeja with the wicket of Verreynne. He danced down the track but misjudged the line and length. Jadeja was quick to shorten the length as the Proteas wicketkeeper-batter departed for a 122-ball 45, featuring five fours. Muthusamy and Verreynne shared an 88-run partnership for the seventh wicket.
