Shikhar Dhawan made this announcement on Monday.

A day after former Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan announced that he would be playing in the Legends League Cricket (LLC), another Indian legend has joined the league as well. Now, 2007 T20 World Cup winning wicket-keeper Dinesh Karthik will also be part of the big event. Karthik also announced his retirement from international and domestic cricket earlier this year.

"Playing at the Legends League Cricket is definitely something I am looking forward to after my retirement. I am up to the task both mentally and physically and look forward to playing the brand of cricket I have always enjoyed. Most importantly, to the fans, thank you for your constant support and I hope to entertain you once again on the field," Dinesh Karthik was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.

"We are very excited to have Dinesh Karthik join us. His flair, his penchant to finish matches and entertain the crowd will undoubtedly add value to the Legends League Cricket. We look forward to seeing him in action alongside other cricket legends further cementing out position as the 2nd innings for legendary Cricketers," said Raman Raheja, Co-founder of Legends League Cricket welcoming Karthik to the league.

Karthik has played for six different franchises in his IPL career. He has been playing since the debut season in 2008 and started with the Delhi Daredevils (presently Delhi Capitals). He changed to Punjab in 2011 and also played for the Mumbai Indians, Gujarat Lions, Kolkata Knight Riders, and the RCB. He has played 180 games across three formats for Team India in which he scored 3463 runs.

"My body is still conditioned for the demands of the game, and while I'm at ease with my decision, cricket is an inseparable part of who I am, it will never go out of me. I am eager to regroup with my cricketing friends and continue to entertain my fans as we create new memories together," said Dhawan in a statement
