Bangladesh will reportedly host India for a white-ball series

The tour will be held in September, 2026

India will be touring Bangladesh for a white-ball series that will take place in September, 2026. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) have confirmed the rescheduled dates according to a report by Cricbuzz. The Tigers have also announced a jam-paced home season that includes tours from Pakistan, New Zealand, Australia and West Indies.

India will lock horns against Bangladesh in a three-match ODI and T20I series each. The ODIs are scheduled for September 1, 3 and 6 while the T20Is will be held on September 9, 12 and 13. The Men in Blue are scheduled to arrive in the country on August 28.

"The series that was postponed earlier between Bangladesh and India has been rescheduled," BCB cricket operations in-charge Shahriar Nafees was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.

The IND-BAN series got rescheduled

Team India was originally scheduled to tour Bangladesh, but the cricket boards from both countries put up a joint statement, stating that they were pushing it ‘international cricketing commitments and scheduling convenience’ of the participants. According to media reports, the BCCI was concerned about the security in Bangladesh at that time as there was a lot of tension in the country due to the overthrow of Sheikh Hasina's government.

Bangladesh's long and gruelling home season in 2026

Bangladesh's home season will begin with a three-match ODI series against Pakistan that will begin from March 12. The Men in Green will return in May for a two-match Test series. New Zealand will be touring Bangladesh next and will participate in a three-match ODI and T20I series each that will begin from April 17.

Australia will be the next team to visit Bangladesh and they will also be featuring in a three-match ODI and T20I series each. Finally, West Indies will be facing Bangladesh in a two-match Test series that will be played in October-November. A three-day warm-up match will also be scheduled before the first Test. The gruelling home season  will see the Tigers play 4 Tests, 12 ODIs and 9 T20Is.

Additionally, Sri Lanka A will also be touring Bangladesh in May for two four-day matches three one-day games.
