Pratika Rawal added in India's ODI squad vs Australia.

BCCI have added opener Pratika Rawal in India’s ODI squad for the upcoming tour of Australia which is scheduled to start from February 24. She is back in the team after recovering from an ankle injury she suffered during last year’s ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup held in India.

In an official statement, the BCCI said that the Women’s Selection Committee has added Pratika to the squad for the three-match ODI series against Australia. The series is part of the ongoing multi-format tour.

Pratika was on the road to recovery

Pratika completed her rehabilitation at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence and has now fully recovered. She had injured her ankle in October during the 50-over World Cup tournament, which India went on to win for the first time.

The young batter was also selected to play her first season of the Women’s Premier League for UP Warriorz, but the injury forced her to miss the competition. During the World Cup, she was one of India’s standout performers. She scored 308 runs in six innings at an average of 51.33, including one century and one half-century. However, she was ruled out after getting injured in the final league match against Bangladesh.

Pratika's ODI career

So far in her ODI career, Pratika has played 24 matches and scored 1,110 runs in 23 innings. She averages 50.45 with a strike rate of over 82, including two centuries and seven fifties.

India's performance in T20I series

Meanwhile, India is currently playing a three-match T20I series against Australia and leads 1-0 after winning the first match by 21 runs through the DLS method. After the ODI series, both teams will also play a one-off Test match starting March 6 in Perth. The winner of the tour will be decided based on an overall points system across formats.
