Dhruv Jurel to lead India A
India A are set to host two multi-day games in Sri Lanka during July and August. The squad features several players who impressed the selectors with their performances in the domestic circuit. Among the notable selections are Vidharbha batter Aman Mokhade, Jammu & Kashmir speedster Auqib Nabi, Chhattisgarh's Ayush Pandey, and Madhya Pradesh all-rounder Saransh Jain, all of whom have earned rewards for their consistent displays in domestic cricket.
The India A squad for the Sri Lanka series features Dhruv Jurel and Sai Sudharsan as two established red-ball players. The selectors have also retained Harsh Dubey and Gurnoor Brar, both of whom were recently selected in India's squad for the one-off Test against Afghanistan.
Several players have received their maiden India A call-ups, consisting of Uttar Pradesh leg-spinner Zeeshan Ansari, Auqib Nabi, Vidarbha's Aman Mokhade, Rashid, and Ayush Pandey. Among the more experienced players in the squad are Devdutt Padikkal, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and N Jagadeesan, all of whom have previously been part of the India A setup.
Earlier, there were claims saying that Vaibhav Sooryavanshi could get a place in the India A squad for the Sri Lanka tour, but the selectors opted against it. Instead, the teenage batting sensation has received an even bigger chance, securing his maiden call-up to India's senior T20I side.
Sooryavanshi has been selected for the future tours of Ireland and England will also represent India at the Asian Games, marking the first national-team selection of his promising career.
