Story Highlights:

Harmanpreet Kaur-led India will play five match T20I series against Sri Lanka.

India vs Sri Lanka Women's T20I will start from 21 December.

Harmanpreet Kaur-led India will be back in action following their ICC Women’s ODI World Cup triumph for a home series against Sri Lanka. The Board of Control for Cricket in India have announced India's schedule for the five-match T20I series against Sri Lanka at home in December.

The upcoming T20I assignment is a part of India's preparations for the Women's T20 World Cup, which will take place next year in England and Wales

Visakhapatnam will host the first two T20Is on December 21 and 23, after which the series shifts to Thiruvananthapuram for the remaining three matches on December 26, 28, and 30.

India holds a strong head-to-head advantage over Sri Lanka, having won 20 out of their 26 T20I meetings. Interestingly, Sri Lanka’s last win on Indian soil came all the way back in 2014, and it happened in Visakhapatnam, the venue for the opening two games of this series.

BCCI indefinitely postponed India's white ball series against Bangladesh

Earlier, the Women in Blue were scheduled to travel to Bangladesh for the three-match ODI series, followed by the same number of T20Is in December 2025, which was postponed due to escalating diplomatic and political tensions between the two countries.

Why India and Bangladesh's Political relations worsened?

India and Bangladesh’s political relationship has become increasingly tense after the recent uprising in Bangladesh. The situation has worsened because Bangladesh is pressing India to hand over former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who is currently taking refuge there. Recently, the Supreme Court of Bangladesh also announced a death sentence for their former PM, Sheikh Hasina, for her involvement in ordering a crackdown on Bangladeshi protestors.
