Indian Premier League are set to host the upcoming mega auction where every franchise needs to submit their retention list by 5 PM on October 31, 2024. As per Sports Tak sources, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has chosen overseas shores for the mega auction this year. The cricket board has sent teams to Saudi for Reece.
Why IPL 2025 mega auction will take place outside India
A top source in BCCI revealed that they have shifted the IPL mega auction to some overseas venues because of the upcoming festive and wedding season.
"A top source in BCCI said we have sent teams to Saudi once they’re back will finalise the location infact we have done search in India also but due to festive seasons and a lot of marriage’s hotels are not available that’s why we are exploring options overseas" source close to BCCI told Sports Tak.
IPL mega auction to clash with Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024
The upcoming mega auction dates will most likely clash with the upcoming Border Gavaskar Trophy 2025 which is set to be hosted by Australia from November 22. As per sources close to Sports Tak, the mega auction date will be from 20 to 25th November.
"Sportstak had Reported earlier is 20-25th November, sources said once will finalise the venue will also fix the date" added source.
