BCCI Apex Council meeting will take place on December 22.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India will host their Apex Council Meeting on December 22, 2025, which will start at 7 PM IST. The Indian Cricket Board hosted their last Apex Council meeting in June earlier this year after the stampede outside Bengaluru's Chinnaswamy Stadium.

After RCB’s IPL title win, the team held a victory parade that turned chaotic, leading to a stampede in which 11 fans lost their lives and many others were injured.

In response, the BCCI has formed a three-member committee, with Devajit Saikia as chairperson, along with Prabhtej Singh Bhatia and Rajeev Shukla, to create clear and thorough guidelines to prevent such incidents in the future. The committee has been asked to submit these guidelines within 15 days.

The BCCI, in its statement, also expressed deep sorrow over the tragic events in Ahmedabad, where an Air India crash killed at least 270 people, and in Bengaluru, where the parade stampede took place.

Shubman Gill to get an A+ contract

Sports Tak understands that the Indian ODI and Test captain, Shubman Gill, will be promoted to an A+ contract. It will be interesting to see if Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma remain in A+ like last season or not, given the reason they play only one format. Gill currently holds a Grade A BCCI central contract, earning him a ₹5 crore annual retainer plus match fees (₹15L Test, ₹6L ODI, ₹3L T20I) for the 2024-25 cycle.
