"In accordance with Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to minimum over-rate offences, players are fined five per cent of their match fee for every over their side fails to bowl in the allotted time. "Consequently, five World Test Championship points have been deducted from Pakistan’s points total. On-field umpires Kumar Dharmasena and Nitin Menon, third umpire Alex Wharf and fourth umpire Stephen Harris leveled the charge," the statement further added.

Pakistan face whitewash at the hand of Proteas

With a resounding 10-wicket victory over Pakistan in Cape Town, South Africa continued their winning streak in Test cricket and recorded their seventh straight triumph. Additionally, this victory solidified their position atop the World Test Championship rankings. This was South Africa's second 10-wicket Test victory over Pakistan, the first having occurred in Durban in 2002. Additionally, it prolonged their incredible winning streak in the WTC cycle. The next task for Pakistan, who are currently ranked second-last in the WTC standings, is a home series against the West Indies.

With contributions from both bat and ball, South Africa's victory demonstrated their strength as an all-around team. Although there were signs of promise in Pakistan's valiant second innings effort, their subpar first innings ultimately proved expensive.
