Zimbabwe pacer Blessing Muzarabani’s agent has responded to the two-year ban from playing in Pakistan Super League (PSL) imposed by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) earlier this week. Muzarabani's agent has alleged that he chose to release a statement amid backlash on social media, including hatred-filled messages send directly. They claimed that while Islamabad United approached Muzarabani, the PSL franchise did not send him a format contract. Afterwards, the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) approached him and got the deal finalised.
“We've remained quiet publicly over the last 6 weeks because we did not wish to create or cause anymore animosity for the Pakistan Super League/Pakistan Cricket Board than they had already created for themselves,” the statement read.
“However, due to the voluminous and disgusting nature of criticism directed at Blessing via social media, I will no longer stay silent.
“Blessing loves the fans. Everywhere he goes he engages with the public and is generous with his time for the fans. I have seen this gentle giant mature into an exceptional man as well as a world class cricketer. However, to the so called "fans" that fill his social media DM's with vile hatred, you are an utter disgrace to humanity and you are cowards.
“So that everyone is clear, the timeline below gives an indication of what actually happened.”

A timeline of events was also provided to claim that Muzarabani was not in the wrong to pull out of a PSL contract which was non-existent and join KKR.

Agent to PSL - Lift the ban
The Zimbabwean pacer’s agent feels that PSL has taken a decision based on an administrative error. He urged the franchise and the league to withdraw the ban.
“YOU SIMPLY CANNOT BREACH A CONTRACT YOU HAVE NEVER RECEIVED.
“We feel ANY ban on participation in the PSL is incredibly excessive and is not consistent with the punishment given to players that have actually breached a contract in the past. I have never seen a player so publicly admonished and criticised for doing nothing wrong.
“We urge the PSL to gracefully withdraw the ban and accept this situation for what it is, an administrative error at their end, nothing more. We bare no grudges toward the PSL/Islamabad United.” the statement concluded.
Muzarabani in IPL 2026 so far
Muzarabani has played two games for KKR in the ongoing season as replacement for Mustafizur Rahman. The 29-year-old remained wicketless on his debut and claimed a four-fer against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). While KKR's winless run continued, Muzarabani has not got another chance. It is yet to be seen whether he gets game time against Rajasthan Royals (RR) on April 19, especially with Matheesha Pathirana joining the squad.
