Out-of-favour Test batter Cheteshwar Pujara has still not given up on a possible comeback to the national side and is harbouring the dream of wearing the India threads once again. Pujara, who was dropped from India's Test side after the 203 World Test Championship final, revealed his blueprint where he spoke about what needs to be done in order to return to Test cricket. The veteran right-handed batter said that he continues to be in the scheme of things and currently his focus is solely on scoring as many runs as possible in Frist-Class cricket.

"Look, I always try and control the things which I can. It's always about getting as many runs as possible in whatever games I play," Pujara was quoted as saying in an interview with Sussex Cricket.

"I am still in the scheme of things. So, I hope that the moment I start scoring more runs in first-class games, I will be back in the team. But I will try and be in present, try and take one game at a time," he stated.

Pujara smashed his second century in four matches to help Sussex chased down the target of 319 against Somerset in Taunton on August 11. Pujara's 117-run knock helped Sussex chase down the total with four wickets in hand and 11 balls to spare. The Indian batter whacked 11 fours in his unbeaten 117-run knock and mostly depended on the rotation of strike to keep the scoreboard moving.

Pujara has been in sensational form in England's One-Day domestic tournament. The 35-year-old has scored 302 runs from four innings at an average of 156.

The Saurashtra batter understands that there is a ton of time remaining before India embarks on their next Test assignment. India's next Test assignment will be against South Africa which is scheduled to begin on December 26.

"We are not going to play any more Test matches in the next two to three months. The next Test series is in South Africa in December. So, there is a long way to go," said Pujara.
