A draw might not have made things worse for the Aussies but for the England team the larger picture seems to be pretty scary. A terrific, nail-biting finish at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) saw a draw between the arch-rivals England and Australia in the penultimate Test of the five-match Ashes Test series.

For England skipper Joe Root this draw might not mean anything different but at least he can be sure enough to have avoided a humiliating whitewash which would have been simply terrible for the English side.

Aussies secure second spot

A draw in the fourth Ashes Test meant that the host Aussies retain their second spot in the World Test Championship (WTC) points table. Australia currently have 83.33 percentage of points (PCT) and 40 points in their kitty.

England on the other hand, are still lagging at the last spot as the Joe Root-led side are yet to win a Test match in the ongoing Ashes Test series.

The third Test match is slated to start on January 11 in Cape Town. South Africa on other hand are currently occupying the fifth spot in the World Test Championship points table. The Proteas have secured 12 points with 50.00 percentage of points.
