Champions Trophy 2025 will be hosted by Pakistan.

BCCI is still waiting for Indian Government's clearance for Team India's travel to Pakistan for Champions Trophy 2024.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) spokesperson lashed out at reports claiming that the cricket board is willing to make "adjustments" in the schedule of the 2025 Champions Trophy which it is hosting with matches involving India taking place in the UAE.

PCB sources close to Sports Tak said that people file anything just to get some views and the hybrid model is not under PCB's consideration.

"The hybrid model is not under consideration it is documented that is the position that has not changed.  People file stories claiming sources X Y Z. People file anything just to get some views. As of now, we haven't decided anything as far as CT is concerned our stand is as it is" the source told Sports Tak.

Sports Tak earlier reported that, The ICC is likely looking for three alternatives for the Champions Trophy, which is set for early next year. Pakistan has the hosting rights for the Champions Trophy, but the ICC is still considering its possibilities and has set aside three budgets for three distinct models.

  • Full Champions Trophy in Pakistan
  • Hybrid: Pakistan and Dubai (India games, SF and Finals)
  • Entire Champions Trophy outside of Pakistan - in Dubai, Lanka or South Africa

The Indian government has yet to give the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) approval for the Indian team to travel to Pakistan for the upcoming mega event. Given the unlikely chance of a change in this decision, the ICC is exploring two alternative options.

The first involves a hybrid model, where all of India’s matches, as well as the semi-finals and final (if India qualifies), would be hosted at a secondary venue. The second option is to relocate the entire tournament outside of Pakistan. Regardless of where the event is held, the Pakistan Cricket Board will retain the rights to host the tournament.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) delegation is scheduled to visit Lahore from November 10 to 12 to assess the arrangements and preparations for the upcoming eight-team tournament.
