The late great Bishan Singh Bedi was the first Indian bowler to reach the top spot in the ICC rankings for Test bowlers. Bedi participated in 67 Test matches for the Indian team, claiming 266 wickets. During the 1970s, Bedi was India's leading wicket-taker. He represented the Indian team at the international level for 12 years. He passed away in October 2023 after battling a prolonged illness.
Ravichandran Ashwin
Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin first claimed the No. 1 position in the ICC Test bowlers' rankings in 2016. His second stint as the No. 1 ranked Test bowler occurred during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in 2023. The off-spinner currently holds the third position in the ICC bowling rankings.
Ravindra Jadeja
Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja became the third bowler from India to reach the top spot in the ICC Test bowlers' rankings in March 2017. Ravindra Jadeja is presently ranked eighth in the ICC bowling rankings.

Ravindra Jadeja
