Niki Prasad-led Indian U19 women's cricket team defeated Abi Norgrove's England U19 women's side by 9 wickets in the second semi-final of the second edition of the Women's U19 T20 World Cup 2025 which was being played at the Bayuemas Oval in Kuala Lumpur, on January 31 (Friday). India are the defending champions and have now qualified for the finals of the mega tournament for the second consecutive time. Parunika Sisodia was named the Player of the match.
This clash was a repeat from the final of the last edition where both teams faced each other for the title. However, just like last time Indian bowlers dominated the England batters. Parunika Sisodia and Vaishnavi Sharma were the star picks from the bowlers as they both picked three wickets each. Meanwhile, Aayushi Shukla took two wickets. Gongadi Trisha might not have gotten a wicket but she was the economical bowler as she only gave away 18 runs in her four-over spell.

Davina Perrin (45 off 40 balls) and captain Abi Norgrove (30 off 25 balls) were the highest run-scorers for the team. Apart from them no one could even reach the 15-run mark and as a result, the team could only score 113/8 in 20 overs. The runs on the scoreboard were visibly not enough.
G Kamalini hits fifty
India got off to a good start in the chase as they got a 60-run opening partnership. England did get the wicket of Gongadi Trisha but it was not enough to bring them into the match. G Kamalini hit a stunning fifty and her 56-run knock off 50 balls easily took the Indian team over the line.
They will now face South Africa in the final of the Women's U19 T20 World Cup 2025. Both teams have not even lost a single match in the tournament so far. This will only make the match more interesting.
