Japan crushes Mongolia in record-breaking T20I victory.

Japan gunned down Mongolia for a paltry total of 12 runs, which is the second lowest total in T20I history.

Japanese cricket witnessed a historic moment on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at the Sano International Cricket Ground. Their dominance against Mongolia in the second T20I was nothing short of phenomenal. Japan's bowlers unleashed a fiery spell, restricting Mongolia to a paltry 12 runs, the second-lowest total ever recorded in a T20I match. This remarkable feat paved the way for a massive 205-run victory, solidifying Japan's place among the top four biggest wins in T20I history. Notably, Isle of Man hold the the record of lowest total in T20Is, when they were bundled out for a measly 10 runs against Spain in 2023.

Meanwhile, this is a monumental triumph for Japan's men's cricket team, a day etched in the memories of fans forever. The team's exceptional performance will undoubtedly inspire future generations of cricketers in the country.

Dominant Japan extend winning streak against Mongolia

This record-breaking victory was part of Mongolia's tour of Japan, a seven-match T20I series currently underway. The series concludes this weekend on May 12. Japan have already established their dominance in the series. They secured a convincing 166-run win in the first T20I. Batting first and setting a target of 200, Japan's bowlers dismantled the Mongolian batting line-up, dismissing them for a mere 33 runs. Left-arm spinner Charles Hinze was the star performer, taking four wickets for just four runs in his four overs.

Building on this momentum, Japan's latest 205-run victory rewrites their record for the largest margin of victory in T20Is. This surpasses their previous best of a 180-run win against China. The series promises to be a learning experience for Mongolia, while Japan looks to maintain their winning streak.
