Indian captain Rohit Sharma who is currently leading the team in the ongoing 2nd Test match against Bangladesh at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur opens up on the most famous 'Sharmaji ka Ladka'. He said that he didn't know about this concept but he heard it from many people. Rohit is regarded as Sharma ji ka Ladka and it got famous after Men in Blue won the T20 World Cup 2024 defeating South Africa in the final to lift India's second T20 World Cup.
Rohit reckoned that in life there are always expectations from people and now that India won the World Cup under his captaincy, fans are now expecting him to win another tournament from Men in Blue.
“I mean, honestly, I don't know about this concept. I have heard it from many people. But no, look, I mean, in life there is always expectations. When you go and win the World Cup, there is now the... Now there is another expectation that we have to win another World Cup. So those expectations will never end. If you score 100 runs, you will be told to score 200 runs now. If you win this World Cup, you will be told to win the next World Cup. Like that. And it is completely absolutely fair because in life you want to grow. You want to grow as a person, you want to grow as a sportsman, as a businessman, as an entrepreneur. Whatever you're doing in life, you want to grow. So that's how I look at it and I think it's fair. It's a fair call” Rohit said on FITTR youtube.
Rohit Sharma is one of India's best captains, under his captaincy the Men in Blue featured in the WTC final, ODI World Cup 2023 final, Asia Cup 2023 winners and winners of the last edition of T20 World Cup 2024.
