In yet another major glitch by International Cricket Council (ICC), Team India was declared no.1 side in Tests which made them ‘Numero Uno’ in all the three formats of the game. But India's euphoria didn't last long as in mere five hours ICC rectified their blunder and reinstated Australia as the no.1 side in Test rankings leaving India second in the standings.

In the glitched ranking, India were sailing on top with 115 rating points while Australia were sitting second with 111 points.

As per the current standings, Australia have returned to top spot with 126 ranking points while India are second with 115 ranking points.

India ahead of England in third, who have 107 rating points. South Africa are fourth on the list with 102 rating points.

India had moved to the top of the ICC ODI Rankings after their series win against New Zealand, which they won by a margin of 3-0.
The Indian team holds a slender lead over World Champions England when it comes to the T20I rankings. India has 267 rating points while England have 266.

Meanwhile, India's ace off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has jumped to the second spot in newly released ICC Men's Test Bowlers Rankings after taking eight wickets at Nagpur against Australia including a fifer in the second innings which led India to an emphatic victory in the Border Gavaskar series opener. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma has moved up two spots to be at number eight after a stellar 120-run knock on a spin-friendly Nagpur wicket.

Left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja made an emphatic comeback after missing out on five months of action due to a knee injury. Jadeja took a fifer in the first innings and has been rewarded for his performance in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy opener. The southpaw has moved up to the 16th position on the rankings.

Also, Jadeja retained his no.1 position in the all-rounder rankings after a 66-run knock. Axar Patel who scored 84 runs to help India post 400 in first innings jumped six places to seventh in all-rounder rankings.

The only Indian batter in the top 10 rankings is Rishabh Pant who got injured in a horrific car crash on December 30 and is likely to miss most of the year's cricketing action. As Virat Kohli's poor form in the Test format continued at Nagpur, he slipped one position to 16th in the rankings.
