India will be hosting the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025 (50-over). The decision was taken in the ongoing International Cricket Annual Conference in Birmingham. Also, the venue for World Test Championship final and the next edition's final has been revealed. The historic Lord's will host the event even when England have no chance of qualifying for the final in this edition.
India to host ODI World Cup
A total of eight teams will take on each other in the tournament that will comprise of 31 fixtures. This will be the fifth ICC Women's tournament which will be hosted in India. Four of these mega events have been ICC Women's World Cups.
Firsts for Bangladesh and England
In 2024, for the first time Bangladesh will host a major ICC women's tournament. Bangladesh will host ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024 between September-October which will comprise 23 games played between 10 teams.
The 2026 edition of T20 World Cup will be hosted by England in June. This will be the first time England will host women's T20 World Cup. The tournament will have a total of 33 matches with 12 teams participating in it.

We saw back in 2017 how hosting the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup captured people’s imagination and I’ll never forget watching Heather Knight lift the trophy on that magical day at a sold-out Lord’s," ECB's interim CEO Claire Connor said.
Maiden women’s Champions Trophy
Sri Lanka will have a chance to host the inaugural edition of the Women's ICC Champions Trophy which will be played in the T20 format. It will be played in February 2027. However, Sri Lanka's participation is subjected to them qualifying in the top six teams. A total of 16 matches will be played in the tournament.
More decisions from the meeting
While the schedule will be released in the coming days, the Future Tour Programme from 2023 to 2007 for both men and women have been approved.
New Zealand's Daniel Vettori and India's VVS Laxman have been appointed to the ICC Men's Cricket Committee as current player representatives.
