India star all-rounder Deepti Sharma has been rewarded for her excellent form in ODIs in recent times as she rose in the latest ICC Women's ODI Player Rankings.
Following impressive performances at the recent ICC Women's T20 World Cup in the UAE, Deepti Sharma has emerged as one of India's standout players in the ongoing white-ball series against New Zealand at home.
In the first two matches of the series, Deepti picked up three wickets, showcasing an exceptional economy rate of just 3.42, the best among all bowlers in the ODI series so far. Her efforts have helped her climb two spots to second place in the latest ICC ODI bowler rankings, achieving a career-high rating and closing in on England's Sophie Ecclestone, the current top-ranked bowler.
There has been notable movement outside the top 10 as well. New Zealand players Lea Tahuhu (up three places to 12th), Maddy Kerr (up one spot to 13th), and Sophie Devine (up nine places to equal 30th) have all improved their standings following their performances at the T20 World Cup.
In the ODI batting rankings, Devine has moved up three spots to eighth, while Kerr has gained one place to 11th. New Zealand teammates Suzie Bates (up two spots to equal 15th) and Maddy Green (up seven places to 18th) have also made progress after solid performances against India.
For India, Jemimah Rodrigues has made the most significant gains in the ODI batting rankings, moving up three spots to equal 30th. Deepti has risen one position to third among ODI all-rounders, while Devine has climbed two spots to seventh.
There’s also good news for Zimbabwean players, with Chipo Mugeri-Tiripano gaining 21 places to reach 28th in the batting rankings and Josephine Nkomo improving by 13 spots to 32nd among ODI bowlers, thanks to strong performances in their recent series against the USA.
