India’s 42-year-old leg-spinner Amit Mishra has announced his retirement from all forms of cricket. Mishra has represented India in 22 Tests, 36 ODIs and 10 Tests. He has been part of India's ICC Champions Trophy 2013-winning squad in England. 

He is currently the eighth-highest wicket-taker in IPL history. Also, he is the only bowler to take three hat-tricks in IPL.

"These 25 years of my life in cricket have been nothing short of memorable. I am deeply grateful to the BCCI, the administration, Haryana cricket association, the support staff, my colleagues, and to my family members who were with me all this while," Mishra said, as quoted by IANS.

Mishra’s international career

Mishra made his ODI debut in 2003. His Test debut came in 2008 whereas T20I debut was in 2010. The Delhi-born cricketer’s last appearance in international cricket was in 2017 in a T20I clash against England at home.

He played 22 Tests and claimed 76 wickets at an average of 35.72, including one fifer. In ODIs, he has 64 wickets at an average of 23.60, including two five-wicket hauls. He played just 10 T20Is and bagged 16 wickets at an average of 15.

Mishra's IPL career 

Mishra made his IPL debut for Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) in IPL 2008. After 2010, Mishra was roped by now-defunct Deccan Chargers. Then, he played for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) before returning to the Delhi-based franchise. His last two IPL seasons were for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).

Mishra's maiden hat-trick came for Delhi in the 2008 edition. In 2011, he took the hat-trick for Chargers against the Punjab-based franchise. his third hat-trick came for SRH against now-defunct Pune Warriors India.

Mishra is currently eighth in the list of leading wicket-takers in IPL history. He has 174 wickets from 162 games at an average of 23.82, including one five-wicket haul and two four-fers.
