The 2024 Men's 50-over U19 Asia Cup opener between India and Pakistan is scheduled on November 30 at the Dubai International Stadium. The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has revealed the schedule for the forthcoming competition, which will take place in Dubai and Sharjah from November 29 to December 8.
India's Group A games against Japan and the UAE, the hosts, will take place in Sharjah on December 2 and 4, respectively. The final will be held in Dubai on December 8 after the top two teams from Groups A and B play each other in the semi-finals on December 6 in Dubai and Sharjah.
The defending champions Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Nepal are in Group B. Bangladesh and Afghanistan will play each other in the opening match of the 2024 Men's U19 Asia Cup on November 29. Sri Lanka and Nepal will also play each other on the same day to begin their tournament.
The Men's U19 Asia Cup 2024 will be the 11th edition; the competition was originally held in Bangladesh in 1989. Teams that qualified from the 2023 ACC Men's Under-19 Premier Cup, such as Japan, Nepal, and the United Arab Emirates, advance to the main event in 2024.
After defeating the UAE by 195 runs in the 2023 final, Bangladesh is the reigning champion. With eight titles, India is the most successful team in the Men's U19 Asia Cup; Pakistan, Afghanistan, and the reigning champions, Bangladesh, each have one title. Coincidentally, the UAE has hosted the tournament's last three iterations, with India taking home the trophy in 2021. Before competing in the Asia Cup, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and the United Arab Emirates are slated to compete in an U19 tri-series from November 16–26.
