Post the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup, eight players from the Australian team will extend their stay in India. They have been selected for the upcoming five-match T20I series against the team led by Rohit Sharma.
Australia unveiled its team for the series starting in Visakhapatnam on November 23. The squad will be led by wicketkeeper-batsman Matthew Wade and will feature seasoned players like David Warner, Steve Smith, Travis Head, Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, and Adam Zampa.
In addition to the World Cup team members, Josh Inglis and Sean Abbott, along with reserve player Tanveer Sangha, will stay back in India. After the World Cup, they will be joined by IPL sensations Tim David, Matt Short, and Nathan Ellis.
However, Pat Cummins is set to head back to Australia after the World Cup. He will be gearing up for the home Test series against Pakistan and the West Indies. Other primary players like Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazelwood, Mitchell Marsh, and Cameron Green will also miss the T20I series in India, accompanying their skipper.

Selection head George Bailey is content with the blend of seasoned players and emerging talent in the team selected for the series against India. He's confident they'll perform commendably throughout the five games. âItâs an experienced squad with a mixture of players who have had their first opportunity on the international stage and that we hope will continue to develop into important players in our T20 group," Bailey said.
âMatthew (Wade) has captained the team previously, is a leader in the group and we look forward to him taking the reins for this series. Like Mitch Marsh in the South Africa series, this is another great opportunity to further deepen our international leadership experience and depth.
âItâs always a great challenge to take on India on their home soil. Most of the squad have extensive experience in playing in India, including eight members of the current ODI World Cup squad, alongside Tanveer Sangha who is currently a travelling reserve,â he concluded.
