India's Asia Cup 2025 batting sensation Abhishek Sharma got out on a golden duck in the second one-dayer against Australia A in Green Park Stadium in Kanpur. Apart from Abhishek, Shreyas Iyer was also dismissed after scoring just eight runs. 

After being asked to bowl, Australia's speedster Jack Edwards picked up Abhishek Sharma's wicket on the first ball of the over. After Abhishek's wicket, Iyer also departed after scoring just eight runs. 

Notably, this is the first time that Abhishek is representing India A in an ODI match and on the other hand, Iyer, who recently asked for a break from red-ball cricket, is leading the side.

While writing this copy, Tilak Varma and Riyan Parag are shifting the momentum of the game as they stitched a 98-run stand of the fourth wicket. Parag scored 57 off 52, and Tilak scored 40 off 57 as India A managed to score 115 runs in 22 overs.

Abhishek Sharma's performance in Asia Cup 2025

Abhishek Sharma was the standout performer in the Asia Cup 2025. He finished the tournament as highest run-getter with 314 runs in seven innings. He averaged 44.85 and struck at a jaw-dropping 200, also earning the Player of the Series award.

Abhishek missed the first India A vs Australia A game, where the hosts piled up 413/6 and crushed the visitors by 171 runs. Abhishek came into the XI for Priyansh Arya, who had smashed a 101 off just 84 balls in that match.
