In addition to the DSP role, the 22-year-old Richa Ghosh received further accolades. She was honored with the prestigious Banga Bhushan award from the state government. The CAB also paid tribute to her match-winning efforts, presenting her with a golden bat and ball, along with a substantial cash reward of Rs 34 lakh. The dream was completed by Richa Ghosh and the team: West Bengal CM Mamta Banerjee

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee praised the efforts of previous stars, noting that pioneers like Jhulan Goswami had laid the strong foundation for Indian women's cricket. She emphasized that Richa Ghosh ensured India finally ended its long wait for a major ICC title. However, the Chief Minister also offered a word of caution, stating that while Richa deserves all the praise, it is equally important for the public and media not to put extra pressure on the young player.

“Jhulan Goswami and everyone did a remarkable job. The dream was completed by Richa Ghosh and the team. My congratulations to all of them — the coach, team members, support staff, and the parents of all the players. Richa has just begun her journey. I want our girls to always be on top. Our Bengal girls have done well in football, swimming, and archery. I believe our archers will bring home an Olympic medal. I expect great things from Richa Ghosh, but we will not put any pressure on her,” Mamata Banerjee said.

Ghosh was undeniably outstanding throughout India's World Cup campaign. She finished the tournament having scored a total of 235 runs in eight matches, maintaining an impressive average of 39.16 and a blistering strike rate of 133.52. Her performances included lighting up the Vizag crowd with a scintillating 94 against South Africa, which she then followed up with another crucial knock in the grand final against the Proteas.
