Sunrisers Hyderabad are considering filing a complaint with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) over a number of bad umpiring decisions and incidents that went against them in recent games in the ongoing IPL 2026 season.
The Hyderabad based franchise is reportedly disappointed with the dismissal of Heinrich Klassen in their season opener against RCB on March 28.
Controversial decision on Heinrich Klassen's dismissal
Klassen was given out after being caught by Phil Salt near the boundary line. Later, the decision was sent for a referral to the TV umpire, who ruled that there was insufficient evidence to prove that Salt had touched the boundary rope while taking the catch.
What happened in the game against Kolkata Knight Riders?
A similar kind of situation occurred in their second game against KKR, Where SRH's star opener Abhishek Sharma was dismissed for 48 runs. Varun Chakravarthy completed a tough catch at deep square leg, but was sent for referral over doubts regarding its cleanliness. Just like the earlier case, there was insufficient evidence to change the on-field decision.
What happened in the clash vs LSG?
The SRH's disappointment reached its boiling point in their third clash against Lucknow Super Giants on Sunday, April 5. One run was required off two balls, skipper Rishabh Pant smashed a boundary against Jaydev Unadkat to clinch LSG's first win.
The controversy occurred when LSG star pacer Avesh Khan, near the dugout, struck the ball back onto the field before it crossed the boundary.
As per the recent reports, SRH are now considering formally writing to the BCCI to raise their problems about both dismissals and Avesh Khan's incident.
This incident raised so many questions whether a penalty should be slapped on LSG for the incident.
The Sunrisers Hyderabad have not gotten off to a great start as they stand at fifth place in the points table, with only two points after three outings.
