Karnataka batter Macneil Noronha tormented Tripura bowlers at Police Training Academy Ground in the ongoing Col CK Nayudu Trophy match. Macneil smashed as many as 25 sixes in his monstrous 345-run knock to help Karnataka post a threatening total on the board.
On Day 2 of the clash against Tripura, the 23-year-old batter completed his triple century from 335 balls. He was dismissed by Anandh Bhowmik for a score of 345. His knock was laced with 23 fours in addition to 25 maxmums. He took 348 deliveries to score 345 runs. His strike rate was an impressive 99.14.
Earlier, Macneil and Prakar Chaturvedi shared an opening partnership of 195 from 289 deliveries. Chaturvedi missed his century as he was dismissed by Abhijit Debbarma, The opener scored 91 runs from 147 deliveries including 13 fours and a six. Then, Macneil shared a 262-run partnership for the second wicket with Vishal Onal. He got bowled by Indrajit Debnath for 106. Onat faced 166 deliveries and hit 10 fours and a six.
Harshil Dharmani could not make an impact and departed for a single-digit score to Diptanu Chakraborty. Skipper Aneeshwar Gautam could not get going either. He lost his wicket to Durlab Roy after scoring 15 runs from 34 balls. Towards the end of his knock, Macneil smashed three consecutive sixes as well. Gautam declared the innings when Bhowmik put an end to Macneil's marathon knock. Karnataka posted 580/5 in the first innings from 119.3 overs. On the other end, wicketkeeper-batter Kruthik Krishna remained unbeaten for three runs from eight balls.

Macneil’s run in Maharaja T20 Trophy
Earlier this year, Macneil was not in the best of forms when he played for Shreyas Gopal-led Mangalore Dragons in Maharaja T20 Trophy. Veteran leg-spinner represented five-time Indian Premier League (IPL) champions Mumbai Indians (MI) in the previous edition.
Macneil scored 157 runs from nine innings at an average of 19.62. His high score in the tournament was 43. However, his strike rate of 157 was impressive. With the ball, the right-arm off-spinner bagged five wickets from as many opportunities.
