In the past recent years, cricket is said to be evolving more and more of a batter's game. It is not considered easy to be a bowler in this modern-day cricket. Legendary cricketer MS Dhoni revealed his current favorite bowler in cricket and the name would not surprise anyone as his answer was none other than the premium pacer Jasprit Bumrah.
MS Dhoni on his favorite bowler
Dhoni said it is very easy to pick a bowler because of Bumrah but it is not easy to pick a batter as everyone is good. The former Indian captain's remarks show how Bumrah is a totally different class in comparison to others. He operated on a totally different level and realm that appears to be beyond the reach of any other player currently.
"Bowler ka aasan hai. Bumrah is there. Batsman main thoda mushkil ho jata. Itne aache batsman hai hamare pas. Iska matlab ye nahi ki bowler kharab hai. Just bol raha hu pick karna mushkil ho jata. Jisko batting karte dekho yahi hai, isko hi dekhna hai, but then somebody else comes and vo bhi utna hi acha lagta. Jab tak Team India achi karte rahegi, I don’t want to pick a batter. Hopefully, they keep scoring runs. Bowler meine ek pick kar liya (Bowlers, it is easy. Jasprit Bumrah is there. It is tough with batsmen. We have so many good batsmen. That does not mean bowlers are not good. Just saying, it is tough. Whoever I watch, it feels great, but then somebody else comes and he seems as good. Till Team India is doing well, I do not want to pick. Hopefully, they keep scoring runs. However, I have picked one bowler),” said Dhoni at an event.
Jasprit Bumrah played one of the most crucial roles in India's historic triumph in the recently concluded T20 World Cup 2024 and he was rightfully awarded with Player of the tournament award for his astonishing performance. He is hailed as the greatest bowler in the modern-day cricket, something which is almost impossible to argue with.
