Gautam Gambhir's coaching tenure
Former India opener Gambhir's tenure as head coach started on July 2024 after the Rohit Sharma-led side's T20 World Cup win in Barbados. His tenure has already been full of highs, lows and intense scrutiny. In Test cricket, results have been mixed. India has played 15 Tests under him, winning five, losing eight and drawing two.
However, the Men in Blue dominated in T20Is since Gambhir took over, winning 13 out of 15 games, remaining unbeaten in the series. Team India under Gambhir failed to perform in their first ODI assignment with a series loss to Sri Lanka, but the team rebounded strongly, winning eight consecutive matches and lifting the 2025 Champions Trophy.
The upcoming assignment for Gautam Gambhir will be the Asia Cup 2025, which is scheduled to start from September 9, and after that, Team India will play a two-Test match series against West Indies, which will commence from October 02.
