Australia A have defeated India A by 7 wickets in the first unofficial Test which was being played at the Great Barrier Reef Arena in Mackay, on November 3 despite Sai Sudharsan's valiant effort on Day 3. Sudharsan smashed an astonishing hundred but it was followed by a batting collapse from India-A which only allowed them to set a target of 225 runs as the visitors were bowled out for 312 runs. Nathan McSweeney and Beau Webster smashed unbeaten fifties and ensured that thier team cruise to a swift win.
Aussies outshine Indian side
With a century from Sai Sudharsan and an 88 from Devdutt Padikkal, India reached 312 in their second innings, demonstrating a noticeable improvement. However, the Australian batsmen did too well in their final innings. India was bowled out for just 107 as they batted first, putting them in a precarious position from the start of the first innings itself. With a six-wicket haul that held Australia A to 195 in their opening innings, Mukesh Kumar stood out for India A.
With an undefeated 88 and 61 from captain Nathan McSweeney, and Beau Webster, Australia A reached to a resounding victory. The second unofficial Test between the two teams will begin on November 7 in Melbourne.
