PCB Invests in stadium renovations for Champions Trophy

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has invested significant resources in renovating stadiums to ensure they are ready for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy. PCB Chief Mohsin Naqvi expressed confidence that all preparations will be completed on time. He highlighted the substantial improvements made to the grounds, which will be in excellent condition by the start of the tournament.

"The stadiums will also be ready to host the matches on schedule and any remaining work would be completed after the tournament. In a way, you can say that we are going to have a brand new stadium," the PCB Chief added.

Naqvi addressed questions regarding Babar Azam's resignation as captain of Pakistan's ODI and T20I teams. He stated that he has advised the relevant stakeholders to take their time in making a decision about the new captain.

When Pakistan clinched Champions Trophy title for the first time in 2017

Pakistan, led by Sarfaraz Ahmed, secured their first-ever Champions Trophy title in 2017, defeating arch-rivals India by a convincing 180 runs in the final at The Oval. Fakhar Zaman's impressive century, combined with half-centuries from Azhar Ali and Mohammad Hafeez, propelled Pakistan to a formidable total of 338. In response, India's top order was dismantled by Mohammad Amir's exceptional new-ball bowling, as the Men in Blue were bowled out for 158.
