Peshawar Zalmi opened their win account with a massive 120-run win over Multan Sultans at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on April 19. Captain Babar Azam's struggles against left-arm pacers continued as he was dismissed for a single-digit score by David Willey. However, Tom Kohler-Cadmore's fifty and multiple cameos helped Peshawar Zalmi post 227/7. Then pacer Ali Raza picked up a four-wicket haul to bowl out Multan Sultans for 107 in 15.5 overs.

Openers dismissed cheaply but Peshawar recover

Babar won the toss and opted to bat first. Saim Ayub was knocked over Michael Bracewell whereas Babar was trapped in front of the wicket by Willey. Kohler-Cadmore and Haris shared a 79-run partnership for the third wicket. Haris scored 45 runs from 21 balls, including four fours and three sixes before falling to Ubaid Shah. Kohler-Cadmore reached his fifty but fell prey to Bracewell. He hit five sixes and two fours in his 30-ball 52. Hussain Talat failed to accelerated and was dismissed by Iftikhar Ahmed for a 29-ball 37.

Owen, Samad wreak havoc in slog overs

Mitchell Owen and Abdul Samad went berserk in the slog overs. Owen hit four sixes and one four in his 15-ball 34. Willey got rid of him in the penultimate over. Samad contributed with 40 runs from 14 balls, including four fours and three sixes. He lost his wicket to Ubaid in the final over. Owen and Samad's cameos helped Peshawar Zalmi post 227/7.

Rizwan's team collapses in massive run chase

In the run chase, Rizwan fell early to Ayub. He scored 15 runs from nine balls. Shai Hope could not keep up the with the required run rate and scored a run-a-ball 20. Arif Yaqoob for the Caribbean batter's wicket. Usman Khan fought a lone battle while Raza wrecked Multan Sultans' middle order with wickets of Kamran Ghulam, Bracewell, Ashton Turner and Iftikhar. Meanwhile, Usman lost his wicket to Yaqoob for a 22-ball 44. The collapse continued as Yaqoob took another. In the 16th over, Owen struck twice to dismiss tailenders and bowl out Multan Sultans for 107 handing them a 120-run defeat. This is Multan Sultans' third defeat in a row. They are at the bottom of the points table.
