Wicketless with the ball, knocked over for a single in the run chase, Ravichandran Ashwin's  Dindigul Dragons were outplayed in the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2025 final.  R Sai Kishore-led IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans claimed their maiden TNPL title as they won the match by a huge margin of 118 runs. 

In the final, Ashwin won the toss and opted to bowl first. Oeners Amit Sathvik and Tushar Raheja dominated in the powerplay overs. Even Varun Chakravarthy wasn't able to stem the flow of runs. Sathvik reached his half-century from 25 balls. At the halfway stage, they were 110 for no loss.  

In the 11th over, Bhuvaneshwar Venkatesh bowled two no balls, then conceded two fours off Raheja's bat. He reached his half-century from 29 balls. But Venkatesh was able to break the partnership with Sathvik's wicket. He scored 65 runs from 34 balls, featuring eight fours and three sixes. Kishore could not contribute with the bat and got bowled for one run by M Karthik Saran.

In the 16th over, Saran got the prized wicket of Raheja. He hit six fours and four sixes in his 46-ball 77. Chakravarthy, in his last over, ended Mohamed Ali's cameo. He scored 23 runs from 14 balls. Uthirasamy Sasidev contributed with an 11-ball 20 cameo before falling to G Periyaswamy in the final over. He helped IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans post 220/5 on the board.

Dragons collapse 

In the run chase, Atul Vitkar hit T Natarajan for two fours in the first over. Ashwin attempted ot play across the line and his middle stump was sent for a walk by pacer R Silambarasan. In the next over, Natarajan flattened the two stumps as Baba Indrajith tried to charge him. In the same over, Vimal Khumar hit a six and a four. He went for a big shot against Silambarasan but was caught just outside the circle. In the sixth over, Dinesh H tried to hit left-arm spinner Mohan Prasath down the ground but was caught by the bowler. In the same over Hunny Saini hit a four and two sixes. In the next over, Saini was run out for a 6-ball 17. Dragons lost half the side for 57 in the seventh over.

In his next over, Prasanth knocked over Saran. Esakkimuthu ensured the run chase does not get back on track with the wickets of Chakravarthy and Vitkar. In the 15th over, Venkatesh as run out and Shivam Singh did not walk out to bat as he was absent hurt. Shivam's absence hurt Dragons in the top order as they could never recover from the collapse and were bowled out for 102.
