In another big coaching shake-up, Rajasthan Royals (RR) have reportedly parted ways with another coach following their disappointing performance in IPL 2025. This overhaul began shortly after the season ended, with Rahul Dravid stepping down from his role as head coach. This was quickly followed by the franchise parting ways with their CEO, Jake Lush McCrum, who had been with the organization since 2017.
RR end association with another coach after Dravid’s exit
As per a report by Sportstar, RR have cut ties with their fielding coach Dishant Yagnik. Yagnik first joined the franchise before their return to the IPL in 2018. He has a history with the team as a player, having featured in 25 IPL matches for the Royals between 2011 and 2014. The left-handed batsman enjoyed a 13-year domestic career, where he played 50 first-class, 41 List A, and 56 T20 matches. Despite these changes, the report indicates that Shane Bond and Vikram Rathour will continue in their roles with the RR setup. Rathour, who previously worked under Dravid on the Indian national team, serves as the team's batting coach, while Bond remains the bowling coach.

Following a structural review, Rahul Dravid was offered a broader role within the Rajasthan Royals (RR) franchise, but the Indian legend ultimately decided to decline the offer and resign from his head coach position. Dravid has a long history with RR, having first joined the team in 2011, playing for them until 2013, and then coaching them during the IPL 2014 and 2015 seasons.
Dravid's most recent return to RR, following his successful stint as Team India's head coach, was brief, lasting only one season. Under his coaching, RR finished ninth in the points table for IPL 2025, managing only four wins from 14 matches. These backroom changes are taking place amid uncertainty surrounding the team captain, as multiple recent reports suggested Sanju Samson had written to RR expressing a desire to be released before the upcoming auction. It remains to be seen if Samson still intends to part ways with the franchise given the ongoing overhaul of the coaching and management staff.
Meanwhile, Kumar Sangakkara is reportedly set to replace Dravid as the new head coach. Sangakkara previously worked alongside Dravid during the IPL 2025 season. He has a prior history with the franchise, having spearheaded RR's coaching staff before Dravid's return, a role he took up before IPL 2021.
