India T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav got his mojo back with bat during the second inning of the Ranji Quarterfinal match between Mumbai and Haryana taking place at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. Suryakumar Yadav who got out on just nine runs in the first innings scored 70 runs. The star batter stitched a match-turning 129-run partnership with Ajinkya Rahane (88 batting) as defending champions Mumbai's 292-run lead against Haryana on day three of the do-or-die clash. 

Shardul Thakur's six-wicket haul in the morning helped Ajinkya Rahane-led side to dominate Haryana. Skipper Rahane remained unbeaten on 88 off 142 balls, smashing 10 boundaries and Suryakumar Yadav smashed the bowlers to all over the ground with his reverse hits and elegant drives in his 86-ball knock.

Earlier, Mumbai speedster Shardul Thakur (18.5-3-58-6) rattled the lower order to bundle out Haryana on 301 during the first hour of the day. Apart from Shardul Thakur's six-wicket,  spin duo, Shams Mulani and Tanush Kotian picked two wickets each as Mumbai managed to get a 14-run first-innings lead.

After coming to bat in the second innings, Mumbai failed to get a good start as Openers Akash Anand (10) and Ayush Mhatre (31) fell cheaply, while Siddhesh Lad (43) failed to convert his start, as he got out to Jayant Yadav's off-spin. Mumbai were 116/3 when Suryakumar Yadav and Ajinkya Raha took charge. 

Suryakumar who was going through a lean patch with bat started aggressively. He smashed 28 runs in his first 23 deliveries. He smashed Haryana bowler Sumit Kumar with three boundaries -- first smashing him down the ground, then slicing one past the cordon, and Rahane followed up with a crisp cut-through point.

Suryakumar who was seen struggling during the five-match T20I series against England soon reached his 50-plus score in professional cricket after 14 innings.
