Vinod Kambli, who was once hailed as one of the most gifted Indian cricket players of his time, fell short of the heights to which he was once destined. The career of the former cricket player for India took a nosedive and never recovered. After beginning his career alongside his friend Kambli, Sachin Tendulkar became the greatest batter of all time. The striking disparity between the two former cricket players' present and health conditions, which they first encountered at the memorial service for their former mentor Ramakant Achrekar, shocked the nation.

Kambli has pledged to battle back and eliminate the health problems that have been holding him down, as the whole Indian cricket community has voiced its concerns about his condition. Kambli also talked candidly about his connection with Sachin in an interview, particularly regarding the 2009 event that caused their relationship to go through a difficult time.
Vinod Kambli issues clarification
Kambli had even accused Sachin of abandoning him at that point. He has since provided an explanation, though. When he had surgery in 2013, the former batter even disclosed that Tendulkar had paid for a lot of his medical expenses.
"At that time, it came to my mind that Sachin didn't help. I was extremely frustrated. But Sachin did everything for me, including paying for my two surgeries in 2013. We spoke, and childhood friendship came forward," Kambli revealed on The Viky Lalwani Show.
"Sachin told me how to play. I made nine comebacks. We are cricketers; we get hurt. When we get out, we also get hurt," Kambli added.
Among his cricketing highlights, Kambli still treasures the double hundred he hit at Wankhede during his 1990s ascent to fame.
"The double hundred at Wankhede, I will cherish the most. Achrekar sir was with me, and we had such a great team. I used to have fun battles with Muttiah Muralitharan and our other opponents. My journey wasn't perfect, but I gave it my all. I'm grateful for the support of my family and friends like Sachin," he said.
