Samson struggles with injuries in IPL 2025
The wicketkeeper-batter struggled with injuries during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. For more than half the season, Riyan Parag captained RR as Samson played as an impact player in first few matches and got injured later as well.
Despite injuries, Samson scored 285 runs from nine innings at an average of 35.63, including a half-century. He was RR's fourth-highest run-scorer of the season. He sacrificed his opening spot for 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi.

Earlier this year, Samson suffered a fracture in his finger while trying to play a bouncer from England pacer Jofra Archer in the T20I series at home. He scored 16 runs from seven balls in the game where Abhishek Sharma scored 135 runs from just 54 balls.
The 30-year-old is expected to be back in action on the international stage when India tour Bangladesh for a limited-overs series. The three-T20I series against Bangladesh will begin on August 26.
After the Bangladesh tour, the Indian team will fly to Australia for another limited-overs series. The five-T20I series in Australia will commence on October 29.
