Pakistan Cricket Board's decision to remove Shaheen Shah Afridi as the Men in Green's T20I captain just after one series and reinstate Babar Azam in the position stunned everyone. Many believe PCB lost faith in Afridi following a 4-1 series loss against New Zealand and with the T20 World Cup right around the corner, they wanted to put their best foot forward. However, now a cryptic Instagram story from Afridi is creating a lot of buzz as it appears to fans like his reaction to the board's decision.

Fans believe Afridi is quite unhappy with PCB's decision and this is his indirect response to their decision. As Shah Masood who took over Babar Azam as the Test captain kept his position despite a whitewash series loss against Australia earlier this year.
"Never ever put me in a position where I have to show you how cruel and ruthless I can be. Don’t test my patience. Because I might be the kindest and sweetest person you’ve ever met, but once I reach my limit, you’ll see me do the things that no one thought I was capable of doing," said the reel posted by Afridi on his story.
Former Pakistan captain and Shaheen Afridi's father-in-law was also stunned by the decision and believed that Mohammad Rizwan was a much better option for the post in comparison to Babar Azam.
“I am surprised by the decision by very experienced cricketers in the selection committee. I still believe that if change was necessary than Rizwan was the best choice! But since now the decision has been made I offer my full support and best wishes to team Pakistan and Babar Azam,” Shahid Afridi tweeted
Recently, Shan Masood tried to explain the board's decision and suggested that the new selection committee have a plan in mind and they might have taken this decision to manage Afridi’s workload ahead of the T20 World Cup.
"There's a new set-up that's come in, a new selection committee, and you always have a plan. And they saw a certain plan and we saw through the explanation that they probably want Shaheen Afridi to be rested as well, his workload to be managed. Because we lost Naseem Shah last year just before the World Cup which proved to be very costly to Pakistan. Changes happen, changes happened during the winter," Masood told Pakistan Cricket.
