Meanwhile, West Indies skipper Hayley Matthews took home the ICC Women’s Player of the Month award for June 2025.

Matthews has been recognised as the ICC Women's Player of the Month award for the fourth time in her career. Her previous wins were in November 2021, October 2023, and April 2024. With this latest accolade, she joins Australian all-rounder Ashleigh Gardner as the only other player to have won the award four times, surpassing South Africa’s Tazmin Brits and her West Indies teammate Afy Fletcher in the voting.

Matthews' outstanding performances included scoring 104 runs in the three ODIs against South Africa, highlighted by a half-century in the final match of the series. She also contributed with the ball, taking four wickets in those matches. Her impressive form continued into the subsequent T20I series against South Africa, which the West Indies won 2-1. “It’s an honour to receive the Player of the Month award again. I’ve been pleased with my form recently, but more importantly, it’s been great to contribute to the team’s success—especially in a hard-fought T20I series against South Africa. Recognition like this is appreciated, but my focus remains on what’s ahead. There’s a lot more I want to achieve, both personally and with this team. We’re heading in the right direction, and I’m excited about where we can go from here," Matthews said, as quoted by ICC.
