Cricket South Africa (CSA) has announced Proteas' ODI and T20I squads for the upcoming white-ball series against England, set to begin next month. Temba Bavuma will lead the team in the three One Day Internationals (ODIs), while Aiden Markram will captain the side for the three T20 Internationals (T20Is).
The South African team is set to travel directly from Australia to England for a series of three ODIs and three T20Is, which will be played between September 2 and 14. This follows their successful 50-over series in Australia, where they have already secured a 2-0 lead with one match remaining.
The squad will see the return of several key players. All-rounder Marco Jansen has been cleared to play in the T20Is after recovering from a thumb injury. Additionally, explosive left-handed batter David Miller, who and Donovan Ferreira, both of whom are currently playing in The Hundred tournament in England, will rejoin the T20 squad. Fast bowler Kwena Maphaka has also been included as a cover for Kagiso Rabada in both formats.
The series, which will be hosted by England, consists of a total of six matches from September 2 to 14. Harry Brook, who was appointed as England's captain earlier this year, will continue to lead the English team in both formats for the series. Meanwhile, Jacob Bethell has been named skipper for the tour of Ireland, with Brook rested for the three-match T20I series.
