Chhetri reveals one thing Kohli and Cristiano Ronaldo have in common.

India's legendary footballer Sunil Chhetri revealed that his friend, India's senior batter Virat Kohli sent him scores of one of the fitness tests he cleared a few days ago in London, England.

Recently, it was reported that Kohli cleared his fitness test in London ahead of the ODI series against Australia next month.

Chhetri was happy to know about Kohli's scores of fitness test and went on to compare him with football great Cristiano Ronaldo.

"A few days back, he (Kohli) was sending me his scores of one of the tests he was doing. It is so addictive, and it is so good to know these kinds of people. On your bad days when you feel a bit lethargic, you see them and think, 'let’s go,' Chhetri said while speaking on The Desi PL Podcast.

"When you are at the top, everyone wants to be a Virat Kohli or Ronaldo, and for these two to keep their place is unbelievable," Chhetri added.

Chhetri’s Kohli-Ronaldo comparison

While Chhetri and Ronaldo's name is often taken together when international football's top goal-scorers' names are taken, the 41-year-old said that the Portuguese and Kohli have one thing in common.

"I don’t know personally (Cristiano) Ronaldo. I have watched him, studied him. I know Virat (Kohli). The one common thing about these two is that they are just not happy with what they have already achieved," said the Indian footballer with 95 international goals.

"I tried in my whatever way to inculcate the same thing because once when you start getting into that circle where you start thinking about what you have done, good or bad, then you are not on the same track that you want to be," he added.

Kohli ready to be back in action

While Kohli is gearing up for the ODI series against Australia, Chhetri came out of retirement earlier this year on the request of coach Manolo Marquez. In the ongoing CAFA Nations Cup, Chhetri is not playing. India will take on Oman in the third-place finish match on September 8.
