West Indies' batting legend Brian Lara is expected to be sacked from Sunrisers Hyderabad's (SRH) head coach post after team's nightmarish show in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. Notably SRH finished last in the points table in the IPL 2023 and now the team management is looking forward to appoint a new coach for the next year's edition.
However, Brian Lara hasn't uttered a word on the development but going by the reports speculations are rife that the batting great will part ways with the IPL 2016 champions.
SRH haven't won the IPL title since their maiden triumph in 2016 under David Warner's captaincy. Ever since, the franchise hasn't really lived upto the expectations and could only make the play-offs thrice and were runners-up in 2018. The Hyderabad-based franchise suffered back-to-back three league stage eliminations in the past three years.
Zimbabwe great Andy Flower's name has been floating for SRH's next head coach position. Earlier, Lucknow Supergiants (LSG) replaced Flower with former Australia coach Justin Langer.
In another report, Royal Challengers Bangalore's (RCB) head coach Sanjay Bangar and team director Mike Hesson might also face axe after team failed to qualify for the playoffs in the IPL 2023.
