India's out-of-favour batter Prithvi Shaw has broken his silence after being excluded from Mumbai's Vijay Hazare Trophy squad. The star opener along with Ajinkya Rahane, was notably absent from the 17-member squad announced by Mumbai for the first three matches of the 50-over domestic tournament. Shreyas Iyer will continue to lead the Mumbai side in the Vijay Hazare Trophy which is set to start from December 21.

Meanwhile, pained by the snub, Prithvi Shaw took to Instagram to express his disappointment over the selection snub. Frustrated by the exclusion from Mumbai's squad, he shared a screenshot of his impressive List-A career stats, seemingly questioning the decision to omit him from the squad.

"Tell me God, what more do I have to see? If 65 innings, 3399 runs at an average of 55.7 with a strike rate of 126, I'm not good enough. But I will keep my faith in you and, hopefully, people still believe in me, because I will come back for sure. Om Sai Ram," Shaw wrote in his Instagram story.

Prithvi's recent form has been a cause for concern. Despite being part of Mumbai's squad which ended up become Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024 champions, his individual performance was underwhelming. He scored a mere 197 runs in 9 matches, failing to make a any impact. His struggles continued in the title clash against Madhya Pradesh, where he managed only 10 runs. Not just this, he also failed to attract any bidders in the IPL 2025 mega auction and remained unsold. Shaw has faced criticism for his fitness and disciplinary issues. Earlier in the year, he was dropped from Mumbai's Ranji Trophy squad as a wake-up call. His poor form in the Ranji Trophy, with just 59 runs in four innings, further underscored his decline.
