The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have appointed Gautam Gambhir as the new head coach for India's senior men's cricket team and he will join the squad for the upcoming three-match T20I and ODI series scheduled to take place later in July. Senior players likes of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will likely miss the series due to workload management and in the absence of Rohit, KL Rahul or Hardik Pandya will lead the team. The cricket board will reportedly make three major changes in the approach.
The upcoming Sri Lanka series will most likely to start from July 27 to August 7. Men in Blue will play three T20Is followed by 3 ODIs against the Island nation. Gambhir will coach team India till the 2027 ODI World Cup which is scheduled to be hosted by South Africa.
Here are the three major changes team India will make ahead of the Sri Lanka series
Aggressive approach
India head coach Gautam Gambhir is known for his nationalism and aggressive approach and now under his guidance the Men in Blue will play aggressive cricket. While, under Dravid's guidance the Men in Blue were calm and composed both on and off the field.

New Selectors to be appointed
The cricket board has invited applications for the post of one national selector for the senior men's cricket team. The cricket board will pick one selector from each zone (north, south, east, west and central) with the most experienced member - in terms of Test caps - heading the panel. No selector can have more than a combined term of five years (junior and senior panels taken together).
Two split teams for India
There are chances that the cricket board will make two separate teams for the ODI, Test and T20Is and as Rohit Sharma announced his retirement from the shortest format of the game now their are chances that Hardik Pandya will lead the Men in Blue in the shortest format of the game and Rohit will lead a separate team which is for Tests and ODIs.
