Tri-series to be contested between India A U19, India B U19 and Afghanistan U19

Both Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Ayush Mhatre were excluded from India's U19 A and B squads for the upcoming tri-series that will also feature the Afghanistan U19 side. The series will begin from November 17 and will go on till November 30. While Suryavanshi is set to represent India in the upcoming Asia Cup Rising Stars tournament, Mhatre is present in Mumbai's squad playing in the Ranji Trophy.and thus both of them can't feature in the tri-series.

“Ayush Mhatre was not considered for selection as he is currently playing the Ranji Trophy (for Maharashtra). Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was not considered for selection as he was picked for the India A squad for the ACC Rising Stars Asia Cup," the BCCI said in a statement.

Suryavanshi and Mhatre's performance as of recent

Suryavanshi had recently been in action for Bihar in the Ranji Trophy. The 14-year-old was appointed as the side's vice-captain ahead of the tournament and went on to play a fabulous inning of 93 during the side's previous game against Meghalaya. Though the match eventually ended as a draw, the left-hand batter left many impressed with his blistering knock.

On the other hand, Mhatre has so far played two matches for Mumbai in the ongoing Ranji Trophy season. He also recently featured for India A in the first unofficial Test against South Africa A and played a robust knock of 65 in the first innings.
