Zimbabwe and Namibia will host the Under-19 World Cup 2026.

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) have announced a 15-player Sri Lanka squad for the upcoming ICC Under-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup. Vimath Dinsara will lead the side and Kavija Gamage will be his deputy in the marquee event which is scheduled to start from January 15. 

The Sri Lankan squad includes promising batters like Dinsara, Gamage, and Mahavithana, along with versatile all-rounders such as Viran Chamuditha, Gamage, and Chamika Heentigala. Sri Lanka has been placed in Group A alongside defending champions Australia, Ireland, and Japan. Their campaign will kick off against Japan on January 17.

Under-19 World Cup venues and host nations

The upcoming edition of the Under-19 World Cup will be co-hosted by Zimbabwe and Namibia from January 15 to February 6. Sixteen teams will participate, including debutants Tanzania. The format remains the same as previous editions, with four groups of four teams each. A total of 41 matches will be played over 23 days. Defending champions Australia, who defeated India in the 2024 final, will start against Ireland in Windhoek, Namibia.

India, five-time champions of the U19 World Cup, will start their campaign against the United States on January 15 at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo. They will then face Bangladesh on January 17 at the same venue, and New Zealand on January 24.

India’s previous titles came under the captaincy of Mohammad Kaif (2000), Virat Kohli (2008), Unmukt Chand (2012), Prithvi Shaw (2018), and Yash Dhull (2022).
